It is important that a wedding speech has humorous stories, sincere thoughts and pieces of advice. All these will make any wedding speech sounds interesting, but I’ve learned that the most important is to use words that come from the heart. How you deliver a heart touching message is the main concern here. It’s exactly what I did so that the entire audience and the celebrants could feel my sincerity. When I was delivering my own speech, I realized that heart I was crying as I remembered some of the days when I used to raise and spend time with my daughter. Knowing the fact that she’s married gave me mixed emotion. I was a little bit sad but the joyful feeling was more dominant considering that she was ready to face a new challenge of her life.

A father of the bride speech is completely boring if there is no humor added. To spice up the formal event and make it a more fun and entertaining occasion, sharing funny stories, jokes and hilarious wedding quotes is the key. I am not a funny person and I just use jokes once in awhile but I knew I had to be humorous when presenting a speech. I thought it can make my speech more interesting to listen to by the audience because basically I had to present in front of them, not just for the newlyweds. Take it from my experience that laughter is a great way to catch the attention of your audience whether you are a father of the bride or groom who needs to give an impressive wedding speech.

Yes, quotation, funny anecdotes and sincere thoughts are the general key tricks in making a wedding speech. I do agree with the things shared from this article. It was a very simple list of ideas but a big help in creating a wonderful father of the bride speech. Now, I can start writing my own speech as I have only a few weeks left to make one for my daughter’s wedding.
